We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Service Technician to join our team. This role involves servicing and upgrading various types of equipment, including locks, printers, and other hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, familiarity with basic hand tools, and a passion for providing excellent service. This position requires frequent travel, both domestically and internationally, to service our clients on cruise ships and other locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on servicing and maintenance of equipment such as locks, printers, and other hardware.
- Upgrade and replace defective or outdated hardware and systems as needed.
- Provide technical support for a range of systems and devices, ensuring they are operating efficiently.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise, and coordinate with the team to resolve problems.
- Maintain and update service records using ServiceNow or other CRM systems (Salesforce experience is a plus).
- Follow established service protocols to ensure quality and consistency of service.
- Travel up to 60-70% of the year (domestic and international) to perform on-site service work.
- Be available for on-call assignments on a rotating schedule.
- Assist in IT-related support tasks, including basic networking and system troubleshooting.
- Utilize hand tools and basic hardware maintenance tools in the course of daily tasks.
- Collaborate with the service team to meet service level agreements and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred).
- 3-4 years of experience in a technical support or service technician role.
- Prior experience in hardware maintenance, particularly in environments requiring frequent travel, is preferred.
- Familiarity with IT systems, including basic networking and Windows-based environments.
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar service management platforms (Salesforce experience a plus).
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and hardware maintenance.
- Comfortable working with a variety of devices, including printers, locks, and networking equipment.
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
Travel & Availability:
- Valid US passport and willingness to travel internationally (up to 60-70% of the year).
- Ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and high-altitude areas on ships.
